Odds and Ends

Colton wanted to try on my mothers glasses, he looked totally funny!

Jack and I had dentist appointments on Monday. We were just going to get our teeth cleaned and for check up's. I had went to the dentist two weeks earlier because I had broke a tooth. They took one look at it and said, "there is no saving that tooth... its going to have to come out." Then they gave several reasons as to why it would have to be considered "oral surgery." It was a rough couple of days but on my return visit they said it was healing well and I had no other problems with the exception of them wanting to pull my wisdom teeth.
Jackie was not so lucky. It had been 15-20 years since he had been to the dentist. He had quite a lengthy list of things that needs to be done. About 7 cavities that need filled, 2 of which are very very bad. They want to crown a tooth and of course pull his wisdom teeth too. He was in a LOT of pain when we come home.
In this picture I was showing off my clean teeth and Jack was showing how upset he was.

Just another side note: If American Idol entertains any of you at all, if you have not already, I would suggest you check out this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxPZh4AnWyk
It is Susan Boyle from Britain has talent. It is very interesting. Check it out.

Work & School

At work last week we had a volunteer luncheon. On the menu was a loaded baked potato bar and a fruit bar. This is the fruit the kitchen put together. I thought we did a good job, I was very proud of it.
On Friday was the relay for life. Our team ended up raising more than $5,100 for the American Cancer Society. Our goal was 5 thousand and we reached it. We thought we did a good job for our first year participating.

I saw Erica at the relay. It was the first time I had saw my "little sister" since the day before my wedding. I have missed her.
Ok so this is kinda silly but, I made homemade cheese sauce for macaroni and cheese for the first time this week. I burned my fingers in the process :D but it was really good.

As far as Jackie's school goes, its going well. He has only about 4 weeks left. He has started studying really hard and is trying to prepare for his final. It's coming up on the end and we both are getting very excited, but continue to keep him in your prayers.

Colton's first race

While I was away at my sisters house this weekend Jack and Colton went to a bikers festival called, high on the hog. They were there with Jacks dad (papa Jack) and his girlfriend Wendy. In this picture they were drawing numbers for prizes. They let Colton draw the numbers then paid him $5 for doing so. Jack said he searched for the exact one he wanted every time.

They had rides for the kids to ride on. Colton got to do his own racing that day.

Then they went down by the lake where there was some ducks. Colton tried to get close to them.

After that they went to eat Mexican. Here Cole is with his papa Jack and Wendy and some other friends.

Colton was very carefully watching the cars and everything they were doing.

He was so excited to see all of these cars. I think there was a wreck with this one. Of course he enjoyed that too.

They took pictures with some of the cars after the race. This one was with a bugs bunny car.

He liked this car too.

The boys had such a good time. I am glad they had a good time together, good time with a boys night out. But I am very jealous I missed his first races. When mom and I got home he told us all about it. I cant wait until the next time and I can go with them.

Just a little trouble

Mom and I went to my sisters house this weekend. We had a good time, but we always do when the 3 of us get together. Jack thinks we are trouble together. I just think we are fun. At one point the dog, bullet, got very jealous because Ashlie and I were so close looking at the computer. He wanted some attention from his mommy and decided to sit right on top of me. In this picture he was basically just straddling me and looking at me like I was silly.

This one makes me laugh, he was just hanging his head on my head looking at Ashlie's computer. Look how innocent his face looks. :D

He finally got what he wanted, just to be next to his mommy, but he was still laying on top of my head all the while. Notice my whole body is there but no head.

We had a good time. And maybe we are a little trouble when we get together. Hehe!

Easter Weekend

The Saturday before Easter, Colton walked into the house and said, "where is my easter basket?" Mom said, "Its not Easter yet," then Colton replied, "well, this come from a Easter basket!" He held up a car. The next morning he woke us up early wanting his Easter basket. He was in the kitchen and Jack and I come through and dropped the basket in the living room floor. It took him a minute to see it but he finally did.

We put all kinds of fun things in it. We tricked him into picking out a movie at Wal Mart the day before. He picked the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles" of course!!! JUST LIKE HIS FATHER!

He was probably the most thrilled with his "strawberry marshmellows." Isn't it funny how sometimes the most simple things are the best.

Then we took him to church and he got to do a egg hunt with the other kids. He was having a lot of fun running around.

He was so excited about getting to hunt eggs!

He was very proud of all his eggs! In this picture he was so proud because he found the "golden egg."

Then he found the prize egg. He was showing it off in this picture.

He won this HUGE bouncy ball for the prize egg. He was telling everyone he saw that he did better than everybody. It was a good day.

My week

I am helping raise money for the American Cancer Society. At work anyone that wanted to could nominate anyone else to get a pie in the face if they would pay for it. We had a easter bunny frame.

As it turns out they got the most money for me. I dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing. LOL! But my kitchen girls definately could not wait to pay to get to put pie in my face.

Of course mom had to get in on the action. She put one pie in my face for leaving dirty dishes, one pie for leaving laundry in the laundry room and one pie because she loved me. Isn't she sweet?

I also got to see my friend Bridgette this week. We dont get together too often but it is always a good time when we do. She is one of the smartest people I have ever met and she always gives me good advice. I cant wait till we get together again.

Do you know farmer Brown?

On Saturday of last week Jack had to go clothes shopping for an interview for school. I turned around and Colton had this hat on his head! He said, "Do you know farmer Brown?" When I told him I did not he told me that he was farmer Brown!

After we finally got Jack some clothes he took us to Baskin Robins then we went to the playground.

My two boys in their titans jersey's. This picture is one of my new favorites.

It seems like every Sunday morning Colton finds a new game on the computer that mom and I totally get addicted to.

Colton decided he wanted to go outside and show Ashlie some of his bicycle tricks. You can see here that he is a master at wheelies.

Colton and I decided to decorate a easter cake.

Colton asked mom if she would help him lick his popcicle because it was melting. We all got a pretty good laugh out of it.

He makes me smile

On April 1st Jack had already decided he was not going to school. While I was at work he went to the grocery store for supper. The plan was that he would go wash my car and I was going to start supper. We were going to have spaghetti with garlic bread. I got the spaghetti going and when Jack was done cleaning the car he come in and started the garlic bread.
I got glasses from the cabinet and was going to pour Jack and I something to drink. As I opened the refrigerator door Jack said, "you wont need that." I asked what he meant, of course I need something to drink. He said, "no seriously you wont need it, just trust me." I then proceeded to tell him that if I got sit down and had to get back up to get something to drink that I was going to be mad at him. Again he said for me to just trust him.
So I did. We carried the plates to our living room and as I reached the door I seen it. He had cut the lights down low and lit a candle and had put two wine glasses and a bottle of sparkling grape juice out just for the two of us.
We had a nice candle lit dinner while watching the UFC fight. I was a wonderful night! I have such a good hubby!
My quote for the day: If I could hold a star for everytime you make me smile, I would have the whole night sky in the palm of my hands.
